About
Emmanuel is an Ocean and Climate Scientist. He obtained his Ph. D in Physical Oceanography from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), China. His research interests are Ocean circulation, Climate change and Air-Sea interactions. In November 2022, Emmanuel joined the Irish Climate Analysis Research Units (ICARUS) as a Postdoctoral researcher, working on the implementation of sea-level-based observational constraints for CMIP6 models under the A4 project funded by the Marine Institute.
He is currently working on a Marine Institute-funded project Future-ISLA (Future projection of atmospheric and oceanic impacts on Sea Level at Arctic and near-Arctic coastlines). This project focuses on Ireland-Arctic-Nordic teleconnections and advances the state of the art of (1) mid-latitude climate (atmospheric and oceanic) drivers of Arctic environmental change and (2) provides an understanding of the environmental consequences, specifically the future coastal vulnerability, in the Arctic and periphery (including Ireland) resulting from global climate change.
