About
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow on the project ACCAI (Decoding Arctic Climate Change: From Archive to Insight) working with Audrey Morley at NUI Galway. Through ACCAI, we aim to better understand how climate signals are recorded in polar foraminifera and apply geochemical proxies to reconstruct past climate change in the Arctic. ACCAI is a collaborative project, working with Ulysses Ninneman (Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, Bergen) and Gavin Foster (National Oceanography Centre, Southampton). ACCAI is funded by the Marine Institute and based at NUI Galway.
Prior to joining NUI, I completed my PhD at the University of St Andrews, UK, where I worked on reconstructing Southern Ocean pH over the last glacial cycle. My broad research interests include the role of the polar oceans in climate change and understanding better how climate variables, such as temperature and pH, are recorded as geochemical proxies in foraminiferal calcite.
