I am Senior Researcher Innovation Project Manager and Principal Investigator with the Halpin Centre for Research and Innovation at the National Maritime College of Ireland. I started out my professional life as Naval Officer serving for twelve years with the Irish Defence Forces, fulfilling senior operational roles in managing and coordinating Ireland's interests within the maritime domain. I have since worked in research for a number of years, and my Arctic interests and focuses include geopolitics, Defence and security implications, while also focusing extensively on waterborne transport safety considerations, logistics and supply chains. I am actively engaged in EU funded research within this space, and I am always delighted to speak with others to exchange knowledge about what we are doing, or for potential collaboration opportunities.
